Protoflow Other Ingredients: Maltodextrin, Stearate, Silica
Protoflow other ingredients are rice flour, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, soy protein concentrate and water. They are not the active herbs. They form the capsule shell and help the powder fill and flow. The label prints no amounts for them, and two of them, gelatin and soy, matter for some readers.

What are the other ingredients in Protoflow?
There are seven, printed in a line below the Supplement Facts panel. They are listed in this order: rice flour, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, soy protein concentrate and water.
Federal rules put ingredients without a nutrient role in a separate statement outside the panel (eCFR, 21 CFR 101.36 (Supplement Facts)). That is why they carry no milligram amounts.
The sales page says the product is free of chemical coating and other non-essential fillers. The label does list several fillers and flow agents, so read that line with the label beside it.
| Ingredient | Usual job |
|---|---|
| Rice flour | Filler that bulks the powder |
| Gelatin | Capsule shell (animal source) |
| Magnesium stearate | Helps powder flow through machines |
| Silicon dioxide | Stops clumping |
| Maltodextrin | Carbohydrate filler and binder |
| Soy protein concentrate | Protein filler; a soy allergen |
| Water | Part of the capsule shell |
Is magnesium stearate or silicon dioxide in a supplement harmful?
We found no evidence in the sources we read that these two harm healthy adults at the tiny amounts used in capsules. We also did not test them, and the label gives no amounts.
Magnesium stearate is a salt of a fatty acid. Silicon dioxide is fine silica, often called an anti-caking agent. Both are common in capsules and tablets.
The point is not danger. The point is that the sales page's "no fillers" idea is not what the label shows. Our testing and quality page explains how we weigh marketing wording against the label.
A filler is not a flaw by itself. It becomes a problem when the sales page says there are none.
What is maltodextrin doing in a prostate supplement?
Maltodextrin is a starch-based carbohydrate that acts as a filler and binder. It is not a prostate ingredient.
The amount is not printed. The label does not give its source, which can be corn, rice, potato or wheat.
People who count carbohydrates, including some with diabetes, may still want to ask. See the supplement facts page for the full panel.

See packsWho should read the other ingredients before buying?
Anyone with an allergy, a diet rule or a medical reason to avoid an ingredient should read it first. Two of the seven matter most.
Gelatin
An animal product, so the capsules are not vegetarian or vegan.
Soy protein
Soybeans are a major allergen (FDA, Food Allergies (major allergens)), and the label has no Contains line.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you take medicine, and keep taking prescribed medicine. Our ingredients page covers the 14 actives.

FAQ
Protoflow filler questions
01Why does Protoflow list water as an ingredient?
Water is part of the capsule shell, which is usually gelatin and water. It is not an active ingredient and it adds nothing to the herb amounts. The label gives no quantity for it.
02Does rice flour in Protoflow mean it has rice allergens?
Rice allergy is uncommon, but it exists. The label lists rice flour as a filler with no amount. If you react to rice, show the other ingredients line to your doctor before use.
03Are the other ingredients counted in the 1,619 mg total?
No. The 1,619 mg covers only the 14 actives in two capsules. Fillers, the shell and flow agents sit on top of that and are not weighed on the label, so the real capsule weight is higher.
